AmateurWire is going to be making some changes to our system in the near future. This will ensure that in the future if we integrate with another service that we will have no issues with passing caller ID’s to other systems. It will also add another layer of protection in verifying license status for all who sign up for service. In the near future I will be changing everyone’s extension numbers to your DMR ID. If you do not have a DMR ID you should go to radioid.net and get one. You don’t have to use it on DMR if you don’t want to but it will serve as your extension number here. These ID’s are unique to every user. This will ensure that the next time we integrate with another service provider that the people you call will get your name, callsign and correct extension number. If you currently have a DMR ID I would appreciate it if you would email me at email@example.com and send me your ID number so we can make this transition easier. Check back here later on for the date at which the change will be made.
