At 9PM Eastern Time I will be shutting down all the services to begin the work on the network and server host machine. Services will be down for approximately an hour while I move some things around and then do the small amount of work to the host machine for all the VM’s. The AmateurWire PBX, websites and email servers will come back the fastest with other services to follow shortly after. Keep your fingers crossed that all goes well while I transition everything around.
As a side note to this I would like to put out there that we have received many donations over the past year and all of it is greatly appreciated. Some donations even helped make the hamcloud possible. I want you all to know that the support means a lot to me but I also wanted to let you know that donations to the service do not only have to be monitary. I am always looking to keep extra equipment on hand in case things ever stop working. If you have extra Gigabit ethernet switches laying around or in a closet somewhere just collecting dust and you have no plans to use them feel free to send them my way. Especially old unused commercial grade gigabit switches and routers. I do have uses for these things if you do not and having a few extras just for a backup won’t hurt either. So if you do have some of these things just sitting around doing nothing and you plan on getting rid of them anyways consider sending them my way as a donation to the server. The QTH location is good on QRZ.
