I went to the local office for my ISP today and picked up a new modem to fix our speed issue. I have since had more issues arise. I believe that I have a bad 8 port switch here that I will replace but also we have yet another issue. The new modem I picked up is causing a few issues. I had the ISP put it into bridged mode for all our static IP’s to work, and they do, but the modem is not allowing things here on the same internet connection to connect to one of my IP’s. My mail server IP can no longer be accessed by anything here at all. This website, The PBX, my home equipment all can not access my email server because it’s IP address is not in the same range as the others. I will call the ISP tomorrow to see if this can be fixed but I feel it is a limitation of the equipment that can not be overcome. If that is the case I will have them temporarily reactivate my old modem until I can purchase another one that will resolve the issue. If anyone would like to help with this I am looking at getting a Arris S33 cable modem. Getting one online used can run anywhere from $45 to $80 and a new one on Amazon runs about $194. I should be able to purchase one of these by the end of the month and all will be great again but until then if they can not fix the current one I am using we are going to have to go back to the old one until then. I will keep you updated on this. Until at least tomorrow when I figure out whats what with the ISP on this new modem I have temporarily disabled new registrations for the site since nothing here can access the Email server.
