Dialing Options

For the most part dialing is pretty straight forward. You can lookup people in the phonebook on the site and dial their extension and their phone will ring.

You have 3 options to dial a person on the AmateurWire System. You can dial their internal extension, you can dial their DMR ID if they have one, OR if your phone supports Alpha Numerical dialing you can also dial their callsign, in all caps, and it will also call them as well.

At this time I do not have phone specific instructions on how to dial by callsign. This will vary depending upon the phone you use.

You can also dial users of the Hams Over IP system. You do have to register an account on their site to see their phonebook if you are not already registered. To dial a user of Hams Over IP from AmateurWire you simply dial 304 and the Hams Over IP extension you wish to call. So for example if you wanted to call extension 100029 on the Hams Over IP system you dial 304100029 on your AmateurWire phone and that’s it.
